But what exactly does Nancy smell like?"Nancy smells of prestige, gold, and bergamot. We have a magnificent setting, Place Stanislas, which evokes refinement and elegance. The idea of creating a perfume in homage to the city perfectly aligns with the prestigious heritage we have," enthuses Vincent Dubois, the deputy director of the tourist office.
In her superb Nancy workshop, the "nose" Mina Gautier, founder of the perfume and cosmetics brand Minalys, imagined this fresh fragrance, made of 100% natural essences."The base note, composed of sandalwood, vetiver, amber, and bourbon vanilla, represents Nancy's heritage and history. The heart note, made of rosewood essences, tobacco leaves, Indian jasmine, and white flowers, is inspired by the city's elegance. Finally, the top note, consisting of bergamot, red mandarin, and lemon, symbolizes its dynamism and youth," details the passionate creator.
Far from an eau de toilette, which is mainly composed of alcohol, this perfume is a much purer form. One drop is enough to perfume yourself. This blend of woody, floral, citrusy, and sweet scents has been one of the successes of the ducal city's tourist office shop since its sale in 2022."It is very popular. Since its launch two years ago, we have already had to restock three times. It's a gift idea that appeals to locals and tourists alike. Nancy is also a common first name in the United States, so Americans are quite fond of it," smiles Vincent Dubois, the deputy director of the tourist office.
Born in Oujda, northeastern Morocco, Mina Gautier grew up surrounded by the smell of roses and orange blossom. For over 20 years, this trained biologist has been creating scents for a prestigious international clientele. Custom-made perfumes, according to the client's taste or personality."For a perfume based on the client's personality, there is about six months of work, where we will meet three times, every two months. I will create your base note, which will somewhat resemble your childhood; your heart note will be your youth, and your top note will be what you are today," explains the woman who counts Indian and Middle Eastern princes among her clients.
